As COVID 19 continues to spread, the future has never felt so unpredictable. These are challenging times for us all, and we hope you are in good spirits and health! Right now, we are doing everything possible to sustain daily operations and provide services to our community. While there is a lot of uncertainty, we know that we need to adapt fast to our changing reality. Now, more than ever, our community needs us. And we need you.
In Nepal Lockdown as a way of fighting Covid-19 has been a double-edged sword. While on the one hand, it has been effective in helping to contain the spread of the disease, on the other, it has put at risk many lives, especially the vulnerable population who earn on a daily basis to live a hand-to-mouth existence. Images of Nepalis who opted to walk for kilometers on end to reach their hometowns just so they will have a roof above their heads and some grain to help appease their burning stomach due to hunger have been swamped by the media.
Reformed Church of Nepal would like to support the fight against the Covid 19 by providing food supplies and medicines in the efforts to respond to the pandemic. Nepal is in a difficult situation getting complicated day by the day.
Alone, we can do so little; Together, we can do so much. This too shall pass, and in the end, there is a bright light waiting for all of us at the end of this dark tunnel. Individually, we are just one drop. Together, we are an Ocean.
We are in urgent need to provide relief package for more than 300 children of seven different orphanages situated in different districts and 600 families of different communities of Gorkha, Chitwan and Pokhara districts who are completely dependent on us.
Keeping in mind only the most essential things, we have prepared a budget for one family i.e. USD 60 and for 600 families is USD 36,000 and USD 30 for each child of the orphanage i.e. USD 900 for 300 children of seven orphanages. The breakdown of USD 60 and USD 600 is enclosed.
