The vision given by the Lord in 1985 for initiating the children ministry during my higher education study in India became reality after returning Nepal. In 1984 me and my wife succeeded to help the desperate needs of 12 children, and gradually the number of children we could minister to, increased to 150 for whom we could meet their physical as well as spiritual needs. We always knew that Lord wants us to carry on with the children homes program to reach to target of 3000 children who could give this county a great manpower in next generation to be the pillars of the Lord’s Churches in Nepal.

We have always considered the prime importance in selecting the children, not to discriminate on grounds of race, sex, caste, creed of home area. We know that we should care for handicapped, sexually abused children too. Our policy for taking the child in our orphanage is to obtain a recommendation from the district authorities both political and administrative chief officers. Exceptionally in case of severe deprivation, a recommendation offer at village level will be considered sufficient. we also do conduct our independent research into a child’s circumstances.

Our policy for admission of a child to Reformed Church  new life children homes is to have available funds and space, and of course, the child must be genuinely in need of foster parents, other than those who might be found suitable in its village, relatives or family friends. our criteria for neediness is the fact of sever poverty and inability of the parents or the child to look after the child due to debilitating illness or physical / mental handicap.

Our expansion program to get hold of 3000 needy children is to comprise small family units (10-15 children) all over Nepal so the children will enjoy a maximum attention and affection, and love will be spontaneous for the children rather than institutionalized.

Our aim for the children is to encourage self-motivation and self-confidence, with the grace of God to keep their physical and mental stability as high as possible, to increase their scholastic and study skills, alleviating conditions from which they came, to instill social behavior and attitudes of their culture to aid them in becoming a leading contributing member of democrat Nepal and to be real servants of almighty God, and to raise them up with a loving example that hopefully will be duplicated by them in their future family and social life. The central leadership will issue guidelines for all the family homes for harmony and supply of needs and will supervise the homes constantly.

Estimated budget for running the homes and reach to the target within 5 years is as follows. An inflation rate of 10% is considered for the successive years.

NOTES: Rent and utilities have been calculated based on family homes rental and the target for the first year being considered 1000 children and gradually adding 1000 more children in each successive year.

Supporting staff salaries are calculated based on each home having one parental couple and a helper and supplying staff. For each 50 home one supporting staff with motor bike is considered, the number of staff gradually is increased in each successive year according to the number of the children. Required furniture and equipment and instrument is estimated for immediate necessary furniture for established homes and just it contains the immediate needs of the homes such as beds and kitchen necessities and dining necessities etc.

The required bicycles are at the number of 200 for the helpers or the parental couple use and the motors bikes are for the supporting staff who would supervise a chain of homes in different districts. Food is calculated based on $5 per head per day, and clothing is calculated on the basis or $90.00 per annum per head. Educational materials are calculated based on all the necessary books, stationary, Bible, and teacher’s salary etc. And the figure is and estimation of $90.00 per annum per head. The depreciation of the furniture and equipment is calculated based on 20% of book value per annum, and for vehicles amount of 35% book value per annum. (365 days in a year).
